Skip About this site About this siteAlphaPlus Centre maintains this site for a community of adult educators interested in learning about and implementing Moodle tools in their teaching practice. Moodle, an online course management system, is a free open-source community-based software package designed using sound pedagogical principles to help educators create effective online learning resources and communities. AlphaPlus is exploring the possibility of delivering Moodle courses to educators from outside the province and is looking for potential partners and funding opportunities to help make this training available. We encourage all interested educators, administrators and organizations from outside Ontario to contact us to further explore this option. | ![]() Comments from our Summer 2009 graduates:I really enjoyed the learning experience and it has reinforced my commitment to developing some online courses. There are so many things you can do to make courses fun and interactive. Really looking forward to continuing my online course development learning and to encouraging others to do so too! /Summer 2009/ This is the most interesting professional development I have received in my work as a literacy practitioner. /Summer 2009/ Playing with the course was very satisfying; seeing how other students had put together courses using the same tools led to some "Eureka" moments. /Summer 2009/ I think this is a wonderful resource for both practitioners and learners. It opens doors and minds and invites collaborative learning for both. /Summer 2009/ This is the first online course that I really got into. Although I struggled a bit, I learned a lot. I especially liked the fact that we were able to access the recorded sessions, as I wasn't able to participate in the live sessions. I also appreciated very much the power point slides which I referred to quite a lot. /Summer 2009/ I think learners will benefit from using a Moodle online course. There is allowance in Moodle to accommodate various learning styles, and I think that's a big advantage. Also, online learning is the way of the future, and we don't want the learners to be left out. /Summer 2009/ I would definitely recommend this training; it provided valuable insight into a flexible, user-friendly teaching tool that can dramatically increase the horizons of training learners and, possibly, for delivering tutor training as well. /Summer 2009/ |
